A consistent learning path applies to an online course for adult education. Being consistent means acting or doing the same pattern over time. A learning path is the way an adult learner will progress through a course of study. Each week adult learners will see six components as part of their learning path. The components are: attendance, question and office hours, a sprint(mini lesson), a checkpoint , a discussion, and an assignment. The instructor’s office hours and email address are posted as well. This uniform structure of a learning path will benefit the adult online learning path. As many adult learners lack organizational skills, this uniform learning path will provide them with continuity. A discussion feature provided 1:1 conversations between the instructor and the adult learner. Community discussions will foster peer relationships in the class. Posting the instructor’s office hours and email address will support the student and guide the adult learner through the course of study known as the learning path.
